A Wide Range of Ceiling Solutions for Cruise Ships

When designing interiors for cruise ships, creativity knows no limits. Lautex metal ceiling systems make it possible to create impressive and functional spaces while meeting the industry’s strict requirements for fire safety and performance.

Metal Panel Ceilings

Metal panel ceilings are used throughout cruise ships and are particularly common in cabins, cabin corridors, storage areas, offices, and as part of the ceiling systems in public spaces. Combining durability with a refined appearance, they provide an ideal solution for modern cruise ship interiors.

Metal Profile Ceilings

Metal profile ceilings feature an open design with adjustable spacing between the baffles, allowing airflow to be tailored to the ventilation requirements of each space. A wide range of profiles, finishes, and surface treatments gives architects and designers extensive creative freedom.

Profile ceilings are easy to access for maintenance, offer excellent acoustic performance, and meet high hygiene standards. They are widely used in corridors, staircases, entrance lobbies, restaurants, shops, and other public areas onboard cruise ships.

Lautex ceiling systems are ideally suited for humid environments, as demonstrated by the spa area aboard Icon of the Seas shown above.

Ceilings for the World’s Largest Cruise Ships

Lautex metal ceiling systems have been installed on cruise ships since 1970 and can also be found aboard the world’s largest Icon Class cruise ships. Lautex has supplied an impressive 60,000 square metres of metal ceilings for each vessel in the series.

Lautex ceilings can be seen throughout the ships, including cabin corridors, crew areas, and passenger spaces, where they combine durability, functionality, and outstanding aesthetics.

According to the shipyard, the Icon Class vessels are among the largest and most complex industrial products ever built in Finland.
