Star of the Seas on her official maiden voyage

The gigantic and magnificent cruise ship Star of the Seas was handed over to Royal Caribbean International in July 2025 at the Meyer Turku shipyard. The vessel has already begun voyages to holiday destinations in the Caribbean Sea.

Star of the Seas is the second ship in the Icon class, for which Lautex has delivered an impressive 60,000 square meters of metal ceilings. Lautex’s products have been supplied to cabin corridors, crew areas, and guests venues such as the main dining room. According to the shipyard, the vessel is the largest single industrial product ever built in Finland. The ship was under construction for just over two years.

Lautex’s decades of expertise, combined with long-term production planning, form the foundation to act as a trusted supplier for even the most demanding construction projects. Cooperation with Meyer Turku and the shipyard’s supplier network continues with the next vessels in the Icon class, the third of which has already been named Legend of the Seas.
