Meyer Wismar Newbuilding Shipbuilding

Disney Adventure is a landmark addition to Disney Cruise Line and the company’s first ship to be homeported in Asia. The vessel has a unique history, having been built through a two-phase production process. Originally constructed in Germany as the Global Dream for another cruise operator, the ship was structurally well advanced when the project was halted following the bankruptcy of its original owner.

Disney Cruise Line subsequently acquired the unfinished vessel and completed its transformation at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Wismar, Germany, where the ship was extensively redesigned and outfitted with Disney’s signature entertainment, themed spaces, restaurants, accommodations, and attractions. The result is a one-of-a-kind cruise ship that represents one of the most distinctive cruise ship development projects in recent years.

Lautex metal ceilings were used in public staircases, public restrooms, Asian Spa, Gym, Luxury Retail, Japanese Restaurant, Palo Trattoria Restaurant and several other areas.
